Buying from eBay USA

Hi, 

I have Paypal UK account.  I have registered it to UK address.

I want to send a gift to my friend in US.  I want to buy a watch on eBay USA and want seller to ship it to a USA address.

The sellers says me that I have to have USA address registered with Paypal.  Then only he can do the transaction.

I contacted Paypal.  They told me I can't add USA address.  

So essentially, Paypal UK is saying I can't add USA address to paypal account.  And seller saying he can't ship if my paypal doesn't have shipping address registered.

I don't understand this.  This is rediculous.  This means people from outside of US can't pay for buying item in US.  Why is so ???

Hey there,

While it’s true that PayPal is a country specific service and you cannot add a country address other than the one registered, you can still get items shipped to the US on eBay. When you buy an item on eBay you can add an international gift address through the check out flow on eBay.
