I have listed an item on auction basis on ebay to sell which is ending on 3 jan but yesterday night i got a message from a buyer that he is ready to pay 140 pounds because he wanted to buy it for his friend's son overseas including post.
My item is psp 3000 with charger, one game and 1gb memory card and starting bid is 55 with 4 pound postage.
This buyer is new on ebay with 0% rating and asking my paypal email address to pay the amount.
I want to ask is that safe to give my paypal email address though I have received the message through ebay message box.
Thank you.

And I bet his son lives in Nigeria...right?
This sounds like a classic scam read this below.
THIS IS A SCAM.
You will get/got a "fake" email that looks as though it is from paypal.....it isn't.
It will say the buyer has paid ...you won't have been paid.
They will tell you that the payment is released when you provide paypal with a tracking/shipping number......this won't happen.
They threaten legal action...have a laugh at that one and ignore it as its rubbish.
Most scams originate from Nigeria and people there cannot even own a paypal account.
Paypal NEVER tell you to send trackable, they advise it for seller protection etc but it is not compulsory.
Paypal NEVER tell you to send an item before the payment is showing in your paypal account.
Delete any emails and ignore the scammers.
HOWEVER to add to your answer in normal circumstances yes it is ok to give a buyer your email address to pay you but in this case the payment you got would not appear in your paypal account the only thing you would get is a false email saying that he has paid.

Well thats the normal way of selling.
The whole point of the SCAM is that people are being scammed by being sent FAKE emails from paypal saying they have been paid when they have not and that the funds would only show in their paypal balance AFTER tracking shows delivery.
