Automated Dispatch note when buying through website

Hi,

I am already using Paypal on my website and have set up the 'Thank you' page successfully. I know the buyer also receives a payment confirmation when completing the check out.

I would like to set up automated dispatch messages when I created the shipping label on Paypal (kind of the same confirmation customers get when buying from eBay).

How would I go about this? And are there any other automated messages I can set up?

Thanks for your help.

Hi there Karina12,

What you could do is once you have shipped the item you can enter the tracking number on the transaction details page in PayPal, this way the buyer receives an email including the tracking number, order status and postal company.

Here’s how to add your tracking information to the transaction:

  1. Go to www.paypal.co.uk and log in to your account.
  2. Click ‘History’ near the top of the page.
  3. Find the relevant transaction.
  4. Click ‘Details.’
  5. Click ‘Add Tracking Info’ under ‘Postage’ near the bottom of the page.
  6. Complete the required information on the ‘Enter Tracking Information and Order Status’ page.
  7. Click ‘Save.’

Automatic emails as such cannot be generated through PayPal but is maybe something your developers can set up for you through your website.

Hope this helps!

Thank you for your reply.

Unfortunately, I cannot see the ‘Add Tracking Info’ under ‘Postage’? I have created a postage label with Paypal, it was not recorded (just 1st class RM). Would this option still show?

Thanks for your help.

Regards,

Karina
