I'm in the process of setting up my first website and I was just wondering if there is any way to charge different postage costs going by what a customer spends. I wanted to charge a certain amount for orders under £30 and another amount for any orders over £30 is there any way to do this?

I want to know about this too. On a page selling cards, I want to charge £1 postage for a customer's order regardless of how many cards they order. I cna't see how to stop the buttons adding postage every time anotehr item is ordered.

Hi b-designs,
You can customise the postage costs you charge buyers who make purchases on your website.
Here's how to calculate postage costs for purchases made on your website:
- Go to www.paypal.co.ukand log in to your account.
- Click 'Profile' near the top of the page.
- Click 'My selling preferences'.
- Click 'Update' beside 'Postage calculations'.
- Customise your postage costs and then click 'Save'.
The HTML code in your shopping cart buttons under the 'Postage' section overrides the postage methods in your profile. To offer free or discounted postage, for example, select 'Use specific amount', and enter 0.00 as the amount.
I hope this helps

Hi
I am using Paypal Express in my oscommerce website and I have noticed that when I click on the paypal express button my oscommerce website, it takes me to the Pyalpal website to pay which is good but it always comes up with a default postage and packaging cost of £1.99 but I have more than the one shipping costs
How do I get it to show that the customer can choose what shipping cost they want
Cause I lose out on cost by defaulting of £1.99
Also how do I get Paypal Express to display the name of the item as a customer put a order through last night and paid using Paypal Express and it came up with Irh Media and so therefore I didnt know which item was ordered
Can some one help me on the above please
Thank you
Ian Haney

Hi ian26,
I hope you don't mind that I have moved your post to here. In my most recent post I have added a link direct to the postage calculation page. Once you have clicked on the link and have entered your details you will be taken to the postage calculation page. This will allow you calculate different postage costs.
I hope this helps

Hi
The postage calculations dont really help me that much to be honest as I charge my shipping costs dependent on how far from my store are my customers
for example see below
One to three mile radius - £1.99
Three to six mile radius - £2.99
Six to nine mile radius - £3.99
Ten or more mile radius from our store - outside of Essex and rest of the UK - £4.99
Paypal Express always defaults to the cheapest option of £1.99
I need to change that somehow so the customer chooses the correct shipping cost rather than just Paypal Express defaulting to £1.99
Please help me
Thank you
Ian Haney
