Economy Postage Rates not Showing in PayPal

Hi all,

I am wondering about the economy postage rates that are available as an option in Ebay but when I go into paypal to print off labels for my purchasers I get no option at all showing the economy delivery rates. In fact I get no option for any second class delivery format.

Am I missing something here does anyone know why I don't seem to be able to access economy postage rates in PayPal?

Cheers

Steve

Hi 🙂

I have just read somewhere else that they don't do second class, only first 😞 Which isn't great as I've charged all my items at second class & my money is tied up in Paypal, so can only deliver via there. Got some items that would cost quite a bit being first class.

You can use Royal Mail online if you have a Visa card. You can use a variety of different options there, it's quite good actually 🙂

Hope this helps, and I hope Paypal take note of this!! Silly to have the option on ebay but not here x

Yes I agree with all that you say - it is a real issue for all of us who wish to post second class to keep costs down. I too have been using the Royal Mail option which whilst a bit inconvenient it does offer the rates that I want to use and is generally very reliable.

Come on PayPal sort this age old issue out - PLEASE!

Great, I thought it was me doing something wrong.

I'm in the same predicament, all funds tied up in PayPal but have quoted second class RM and want to send second class RM.

Aren't the fees charged by Ebay and Paypal high enough without penalising us this way too?

What is the thinking behind this?

I look forward to a rapid response from Ebay and PayPal on this matter (that'll be the day!!)

This is even more important now that Royal Mail have added nearly 40% to their charges from April.  If Paypal don't let us use an option for second-class mail we will lose masses of customers.

This should also be the time to increase the maximum charge that Ebay allows us to charge for large books, which at the moment is set to £3.25.  A reasonably large book weighs about 1kg.  That will be £4.30 under the new Royal Mail charges.  A book of above 1Kg would be a mimimum of £5.60.

It would be nice for someone from PayPal to respond to this otherwise they are going to be losing custom.

I totally agree with RonS on this as I am sure many of you out there do. Come on PayPal let us know what is happening, if anything?

yep, I have the same problem. I have just started selling some books on ebay quoting customers royal mail second class and found out paypal only offer 1st class which is around 50 pence more expensive, so for each book i've been selling on ebay i've been loosing around 50p off of each sale. Very bad..:-(    The only way I've been getting round it is to use a debit card to purchase labels through the official royal mail website and then transfer the funds from paypal into the corrosponding debit card account......Still lots of messing around and very. very poor on paypal. SORT IT OUT PAYPAL.
