I've agreed to buy something with a seller on pre loved. We have a agreed a sale price of £40. However I don't know how much to send as I don't know how much he will be charged for buyers protection. The paypal site says: 'No PayPal transaction fee for you. The seller pays the fee. Plus, your eligible purchases are covered by PayPal Buyer Protection.' If I want to pay for protection but the seller pays the fee. How much do you think I should send? I can't find this info anywhere. Thank you in advance

You don't pay for buyer or seller protection, it is offered by paypal for all sales that are paid using the ''send money'' tab OR via a money request or invoice.

Sellers pay to receive all online payments for sales via paypal, buyers do not ever pay a fee and should not be asked to pay it.

NEVER pay for an item using the friends / family gift option as that is the only time you are not covered by buyer protection and sellers should not ask you to pay that way.

Also make sure the item is well described as to what you are paying for when you send payment or make sure the seller describes the item correctly when they send you a money request or invoice JUST in case the item arrives misdescribed and you have to open a dispute.
