Can I change a payment method from e-cheque after an order is placed?

Hi,

I recently bought an item from ebay and paid using my paypal account, which I had not used in quite some time.  I thought it would pay the seller with the card attached to the account, but I hadn't realised that card had expired and so the payment went by e-cheque, and there is a note on my activity page to say that "eCheque estimated completion: 22 March 2018. We advise merchants not to dispatch items until they have received payment."

Since placing the order I have updated my paypal account and verified my card as well as added funds into my paypal account which would cover the cost of the item ordered.  Is there a way in which I can change the payment method from e-cheque to either pay instantly from my paypal funds or directly from my card?

Thanks

Maibel

You can't change a processing payment but you can ask the seller to CANCEL IT.

If the seller does not know how tell them to do this

                                                                    ...................

Go to Account Overview > History > Find the relevant payment > Details > Cancel Payment under ‘Cancel this eCheque payment’ > Review the information and include a message to buyer > Cancel Payment.

                                                          .....................................

However whilst you can then pay instantly it won't STOP your echeque from still leaving your bank account and processing to Paypal BUT when it gets there paypal will credit it to your Paypal account balance instead of to the seller and then you can withdraw it back to your bank account again.
