Difference between using Bank Account or Debit Card to send money ?

Hello everyone,

could i confirm please if it is free to send money to a friends bank account BANK to BANK ? but if you use a debit card card it costs ?

is it slower sending bank to bank then credit/debit card please? How long does it take for bank to bank? as opposed to debit card to bank account?

im so confused

You can't send  bank to bank using paypal.

You can only send from one paypal account to another paypal account.

But you can withdraw from PayPal to bank or am I way off? If you can how long does the withdraw process for the other person take if It was sent to a friend with just a bank account registered

I think i know what you are getting at.

I. If you are sending a gift payment to a friend then it is free as long as you are using funds in your paypal balance OR instant bank transfer.

If you are using a debit or c.c. then there is a small fee.

This is presuming your friend is in the same country as yourself.

2. Once your friend has the funds in his paypal account balance he can withdraw to any bank account he has added and verified to his paypal account (not a debit card). It can take from 2 hours to 72 hours to withdraw funds to a bank account.

Personally if a friend of mine wanted a payment to his bank account I would not  bother with paypal.

I would go to the same bank he uses ie Barclays and pay cash direct into his bank account with his sort code / account number > then its instantly in his bank account balance.

Great explanation! That's exactly what I needed to know. Just one last question what is instant bank transfer? Is it me just sending the funds from the source bank?

Instant bank transfer is sending a payment direct from your bank account to paypal but it is INSTANT TO THE RECEIVER (or seller) as long as you have a back up card linked to your paypal account as well.
