Help! How do people pay into my paypal account for a hen party?

Hi Everyone

I am organising my friends hen party and have decided that using paypal to collect payment might be a better option than handling a load of people's cash.

My paypal account is personal, not business so I'm not sure how best to tell everyone where to send the money. Is there a link to my paypal page or do i have to send a request for payment  to their email address?

Also, if there are people in the group who do not have a paypal account are they still able to pay into my account in some way?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance

M

I'll tell you how to do it and then i will tell you why i personally would not use paypal for this reason.

For them to pay you they need to go to the send money > friends / family option > make sure they imput your email address correctly and send the money. It is free if they fund their payment via instant bank transfer or funds already in their paypal account balance.

Reason i would not use this option.

What happens if >>>

they accidently use the send money > goods / services and you end up with a fee.

they use the goods / services option and paypal see you as a new seller and hold those funds for 21 days.

they make a mistake with your email address and the funds go to another user (you can't file a dispute for a friends / family payment).

they fund it via a debit or credit card so you get fees to pay as its only free if they use instant bank transfer or funds in their paypal account balance.

they don't have a paypal account so they can't use that option.

Up to you and it can work well but odds are someone is going to do one of the above so be aware.
