Payment status "scheduled"

This payment after delivery malarkey has hit me for the first time. I didn't select it, it just happened. My payment status is now shown as scheduled. My understanding is that this facility only delays my payment to PayPal rather than PayPal paying the seller. If that's right can someone explain why my payment is shown as pending to the seller? Thanks

When you pay a seller it is never instant > paypal CREDITS the seller for you and then paypal wait for the funds to transfer from your funding source.

This is the same when you pay instantly OR pay after delivery. The only difference is that paypal take the payment instantly from your bank account when you pay normally but they still wait for it to process through to them and with PAD they don't take it for 14 days.

Either way the seller has been paid but in the first instance its completed as paypal has processed the bank transaction rather than pending when they have not processed the bank transaction yet.

You can turn off PAD for future transactions by >>>

1.Log into your PayPal account at www.paypal.co.uk.
2.Click the COG SYMBOL 'SETTINGS' near the top right of the page. (spanner thing next to log out).
3.Scroll down to 'Payment Settings'.
4.Click 'Pay after Delivery',
5.Under 'Paying after delivery is my preferred way to pay', click 'Turn this option off'.

Thanks. I think I had the gist of this process on my original email. Unfortunately on this case the seller has not been paid as the transaction is still showing as pending at their end. I have funds and don't understand why the "credit" has been delayed. I guess I need to phone to query officially.

Sounds as if they are a new seller and so their funds are pending under the new seller hold.

This is for buyer protection until they get a good selling record and the sooner the seller sends the item and provides a tracking number to prove delivery to you the sooner their pending funds are released.

If its showing as completed on your end then you have paid and it has nothing to do with you.

Sorry, not showing as completed at my end. Showing as "scheduled". When you drill down it takes you to all this pay after delivery malarkey. Threatening to delay a very important Christmas present so not impressed. Never had this problem before.

I've checked again and it's showing as "pending with the money to come out of my bank account on 26 Dec.  Also says that the seller has already been paid etc etc. Thing is he says he hasn't been paid and the money has not been transferred at his end.

I tried ringing but gave up after the automated crap.

How do I escalate this?

Thanks

Sorry, am not making this up. Seller has just advised me that:

Paypal only pay me once the money has left your account. They even tell me not to post to you until I have the money in my account. I need to be paid by Thursday night to post to you by Christmas or will have to relist.

I seem to be piggy in the middle here. I'm not sure whether his understanding is spot on in relation to the process but he is adamant that he has not been paid.

Again, can someone please advise how I should escalate.

New seller hold that every new seller goes through.

If he does not send your item then file a dispute for non receipt etc.

Ok thanks. So in fact the comment "he has already been paid" isn't true.

I will file dispute for non receipt immediately. Does this mean I can go back to E Bay and find another product and be confident that I won't pay twice?

Thanks
