Private sale outside of eBay. Am I covered by PayPal for funds I've sent to seller?

Hi... I was interested in buying a pram off eBay and messaged the seller with a lower offer than the buy it now price and seller agreed and contacted me outside of eBay asking if the sale could be done through PayPal as she didn't want to be hit with eBay fees after lowering the cost for me already. We both agreed and I asked her to send me an invoice for the private purchase outside of eBay. The invoice didn't clarify if it was a gift transaction or a goods/ sales transaction therefore we agreed via message that the best way to do it would be for me to send her the funds (£445) as a Goods/ sales transaction instead. After checking the summary on my PayPal account it doesn't state whether the transaction was for goods or not despite me choosing that option. I just want to double check I would be covered if the item isn't satisfactory or if it doesn't turn up for instance?? Thanks in advance

@Kirsty12

You are covered by paypal buyer protection as long as you did not send the funds via the send money > family and friends option.

Invoices / money requests and sending goods / services are all covered.

However paypal buyer protection is not a coverall and its best you read up on it to see how you are covered.

For eg now you have gone "off ebay" there is no auction description that paypal can refer to if you have to file an item received but not as described dispute.

If you just send the funds for a "pram" and you get an old tatty item or a dolls pram then you may lose any dispute as the seller has sent you the "pram" as per your description.
