I have tried unsuccessfully about a dozen times to send money to someone in Poland using the balance in my Paypal account. I have checked the email address with her and have had several discussions with customer service. They have told me to change my password, security questions, log in, log out. They have also reset my account but none of these have worked. They eventually said this: 'We suggested some ways to complete your payments and hope that you have tried your payment again. If none of our suggestions worked, please contact the seller and find another way to complete your payment.
This sounds a bit strange - they have just given up and told me to use another method!!! Has anyone got any suggestions please? Thank you.

It clearly states what to do on the page that I sent you to and I can't understand why you don't understand !!!
Go to your paypal balance > details > bottom option ''manage currencies'' > on the RIGHT side of that page you fill in the details eg balance conversion > how many pounds > how much you want to convert > what currency you want to convert it to > click on calculate and it tells you how much you will get in zloty > then press continue and follow the rest of the promps if you are happy to carry on.

Well it appears that i did understand correctly because that is exactly what i have done but unfortunately it has still not worked and my payment still won't go through - which is why I questioned the steps with you. I am sorry to see that I have exhausted your patience - I won't trouble you any more. This appears to be an unresolvable problem. Thank you for your time.

The only other thing I can think of is do you have a back up card linked to your paypal account as well?
Only paypal often won't let you use funds in your paypal balance without a back up card.
Other than that if the payment in your paypal balance in the correct currency then it should go through.
I would give it a few hours and try again.
Also have you double checked the email address that you are sending the payment to and made sure there are no typos etc?
What error message do you get?

I have checked the email address and that is fine. There is no error message - i start the transaction and it starts doing it and then just disappears off the screen - returns to an earlier screen - and when i then check in activity to see if it is sent there is nothing there.
But your comment about a back up card is interesting - my back up card had expired - i have put a new one on there but have to wait for a statement to get the 'code' to put in for confirmation. So it may well be that - noone has mentioned that before - so i will wait until I get that code and try again.
Thank you

Aha, think we are getting somewhere.
You did need the funds in the correct currency but you also need a back up card.
Come back and update as its how we learn things to pass on to others.

Hi - I said I would keep you updated. The latest is that I received an email from Customer Services saying that my payments were being stopped by internal security and that I needed to ring them to sort it out. I rang them and they said that they would try and override the security system and send the payment for me. They tried but couldn't do this. I asked why there would be a problem with my account and they said that it could be because I hadn't used it for some time or more likely that it was because the security measures have become much more stringent of late ..... They then said that the best way of dealing with this was to ask the person in Poland to send an invoice to us through Paypal and then simply click on 'Pay Now' when I received it. I did this and hey presto I was able to pay it immediately!!!! Pity that noone in Customer Services had suggested this earlier.......!!!!!
Anyway,I hope this helps you with future cases. Thanks again for your help
Best wishes
Annie
