Does anyone know how I can set my paypal.me to GBP rather than USD?
I have my primary and only currency on my paypal account set to GBP, however cannot find where to do this on paypal.me.
Thanks

Hi Aberis,
Thank you for posting and welcome to the Community Forum!
PayPal.me is a link you can share with your friends and family to get paid. As it’s linked to your full PayPal account all currency changes can be performed directly on your full PayPal account.
Under this link you can find an instruction on how to convert funds but once you will be in the Currency Converter you will be able to add/remove and change your primary currency as well - http://ow.ly/RJH63.
Hope it helps. Please let us know if you have any questions.

When I log on to my PayPal account, I do not have the menu options listed in the link. However, if I select Summary and click PayPal balance, I do receive an option to Manage Currencies.
My current balance is in GBP, my only and primary currency is listed as GBP and I can convert only from GBP (which I have no requirement to do); however my PayPal.me page defaults to USD; which is not useful as any incoming transactions will be in GBP.
How do I therefore get my PayPal.me to default to GBP and NOT USD.
Thanks

Hi Aberis,
This is a strange one.
The currency associated with your PayPal.me link (http://ow.ly/SnwZv) should be the same as the primary currency on your PayPal account.
Are you possibly using some sort of software that might be giving you a US IP Address?
Nevertheless, I think it might be best if you contact us through one of our other social media channels so we troubleshoot this with you.
We are available 24/7 to answer private messages sent through our Facebook page (http://goo.gl/4BO8de) and respond swiftly to any tweets directed towards @AskPayPal!
Would you consider giving this a try?

Connor,
Sorry for taking so long to get back to you.
Just a thought. When I logged on to paypal today, the paypal.com/myaccount/home page had my PayPal Balance in USD even thought my primary (and only) currency is GBP. Suspect this is caused by the same issue. The leads me this question: I opened my PayPal account before there was a PayPal UK (so to speak), could these problems be caused because I have what could be classed and a PayPal US account?
BTW: Have a UK IP address.
Thank again

Hi Aberis,
No problem at all.
Since we spoke last, this has been reported by a number of PayPal.me customers and has been flagged by our engineers.
They are trying to find the route cause of the problem and should have a permanent fix soon though 🙂
In the meantime, could you remind your friends to change the currency to GBP before sending you a payment?

I stumbled across this post and have found a solution.
The following will force PayPal.me to use GBP:
http://paypal.me/YOURNAME/0gbp
The following will force it to use USD:
http://paypal.me/YOURNAME/0usd
This works because you can specify an amount after your username, and specifying zero (0) and then the currency just sets the currency alone.
As a further example, if you wanted to request $15 (USD) you could use the following
http://paypal.me/YOURNAME/15usd
If you find this useful why not tip me in my own tip jar? http://paypal.me/keirthomas/0usd

Hello guys,
As upgar already mentioned, adding your currency code after the amount that you're requesting will automatically change the currency for that session temporarily.
Only if all of us were reading all the text/instructions while opening a PayPal.me id. When you try to create one, they show you an example of how you can request funds from your clients. After that very example, they've also mentioned about this. They have literally specified how you can receive funds in different currencies.
I'm an Indian, and if I were to receive funds from an American client, I would just send:
And if I were dealing with an Indian client, I would rather send the amount followed by currency code for Indian currency, which is INR:
Cheers!
