Can I use an American Express through PayPal even if the vendor does not accept Amex?

Good thinking - some vendors will accept American Express via PayPal, even though they may not via other, traditional payment methods.  However, just as a physical store may not accept all types of cards, some vendors still do not accept all types of cards via PayPal.  We would recommend reaching out to your merchant to see if they accept these sorts of payments.
