Help with Walmart.com and cancelled order

I ordered an item from walmart.com for in store pickup.  According to WalMart.com it was available in my local store.  I charged it to my paypal acct, which barely had enough to cover the charge.  About an hour later, I got an e-mail from walmart saying the item was not in stock, and that the order was cancelled.  The money was taken from my paypal acct. within 30 minutes, but walmart is saying it could take 10 days for it to be refunded.  Where is the hold up on this, walmart or paypal?  I would like to resolve this ASAP as I would like to order something else within 3 days (today if possible!)

Thanks for any help!

Exact same thing happened to me. I am on the same boat as you. I ordered a printer and a ream of paper on Nov 26th 2011 form Walmart.com. It was for a local store pickup and said they had both in stock. Then I get an email saying the paper is ready to be picked up but the printer got cancelled since it really wasn't in their inventory.

They still wanted me to pick up the ream of paper that cost about $3. Does that make sense? Why would I want my ream of paper without my printer that you said you had in stock at the time of placing the order? I'm not driving 5 miles to pick that ream up without a printer.

What a dumb system, if one item is out of stock or backordered and it's your inventory systems fault, why not let me cancel the whole order and refund my paypal payment?

BTW, before this, I had ordered a printer from Bestbuy.com and same thing out of stock, even though inventory showed they had them. Bestbuy refunded the funds within 5 mins. Paid via paypal, refunded via Paypal.

I will not shop at Walmart anymore because of this.
