I never put money into my Paypal account, but only use Paypal to purchase items with my credit card because many people require it. Just before Christmas I made an agreement with a seller and the payment that was put forth through Paypal wasn't actually supposed to go through. The seller and me, the buyer knew this. I didn't have the money in my bank to cover this payment and I wasn't worried since the seller and I had another arrangement. This all happened on December 18th. On December 27th, Paypal took it upon themselves to request payment from my bank account for this item because they fronted their own money to pay the seller. I NEVER signed up for this. This is the very thing I was trying to avoid by not adding money to the Paypal account itself. I've had to cancel my bankcard because even after explaining everything, Paypal still has frozen my account and it is showing a negative balance, meanwhile, the seller has Paypal's money and the merchandise. I'm now working with my bank to try and settle over $100.00 in overdraft fees that have incurred because of Paypal's insistence on collecting money from me that they never should have fronted to begin with. I never knew this was coming. It never showed up in my Paypal transactions as being an issue. nine days, five business days had passed and Paypal never notified me of any problem, and I check my Paypal balance everyday. How can they front money to a seller on my behalf when I never gave my permission to do so. I just double checked and I definitely have NEVER chosen this option.
