Ally Bank not working with PayPal anymore?

In the last week and a half, I've had my Ally Bank account de-linked because it wouldn't pay out the money I sent, even though the money was easily there.  And now yesterday I saw in my bank account that there was a reversal from Paypal, even though the money was sent to me from someone who was paying for something that she couldn't get in another way.  That money hasn't returned to my PayPal balance yet, as it was just done yesterday, and Ally doesn't process payments on weekends. I called Ally about this, and they said there's some problem going between them and PayPal that they're trying to resolve, but I'm not getting told of any timetable for when it'll be fixed.

Meanwhile on the PayPal side of things, when I try to add my account back, I verify my identity and find the eligible account, but when trying to finalize it, I get the message "We aren't able to process your request right now.  Try again later!"

This is driving me (as well as many other Ally customers, from what I've heard) crazy.  Can someone tell me what the problem is, how it gets fixed, and what kind of timetable I'm looking at?

I am also having the same issue and have had my Ally account linked for years to my Paypal without issue.  Has anyone heard of an ETA for resolution yet?

Having the same issue now in April, have been banking with Ally since 2014 and have had it connected to PayPal for nearly as long. When Ally apparently had their issue PayPal booted the bank from my account, and it still won't allow me to add it back. I've been through as many customer support channels as I can find, and no concrete solution so far.

I was able to connect my Ally savings account and got it to work but my checking account won't connect. I'm not sure what the difference is and I'm not thrilled with having my savings account attached but it is working now at least.

My Ally checking account stopped working with Paypal too. I then switched to the debit card, which worked, but then I got charged fees. I have given up at this point trying to get Ally working.

It is now May, and I still have not received this proof of error letter that they promised they’d send me. I’m not sure if they don’t have the right email, or if they even know what they’re doing anymore. I’m just about at my limit with this bank, honestly!

This issue is now going on 3 months with no resolution.  I refuse to open a bank account with another bank just because Paypal and Ally can't work this out- this is ridiculous.

PAYPAL- Can someone PLEASE give us information as to the status of resolution?  Is there anything we, as Ally banking customer, can do to get our Paypal accounts working again?

I have been a PayPal customer for 5 years now and have 3 now but at most 5 online banks and their cards linked to PayPal ever since and NO credit cards linked either and have never had the probelms that y'all are having. I'm thinking of opening a Ally account and came upon this Google Search and thought I would respond . I have had NetSpend, which is Metabank, Chime ..online bank, Varo Bank, Oxygen Bank, Lilli Bank, One Finance Bank, Current Bank and a few other online banks all linked at one time or another and still have a few of these and also a SoFi Bank ..new online bank linked. It kinda makes me wanna wait on Ally for awhile but their interest rate on Checking is so High right now Good luck and I pray it all works out !

I called Ally again today and the customer service rep said that I should contact Paypal. She said she knows of Ally customers that have successfully connected their accounts. However, I tried again today to add Ally checking account and savings account to my Paypal wallet but it didn't work, either through the Yodlee login port or manually entering the routing number and account number. So I will try to contact Paypal again.

I also tried adding the checking and the savings account via Paypal Assistant bot chat and through their automated phone system, but was unable to. They said to call during office hours,

I may have broken through. If you’ve brought this issue up with Ally like I have, they WILL send you a letter of error Apparently Ally sent me the letters of error to my account that I had set to “Online only”, so I never received an email or alert about them. However, the letter(s) can be viewed either in app or on their website (in app you go to Tasks > X more tasks (the X will be a number before “more tasks”) > Notices. You can save them to your computer on in your phone and either send them via Twitter at @AskPayPal, or connect with them via the message center where you’ll be able to upload/attach them. Once they’ve gone over it and confirmed your account is good, as well as reinstated the account that was connected, they do advise waiting 24-48 hours before sending from or transferring to your account, so it gets restored properly. I actually just transferred something from a family member on Wednesday, and it arrived in my account Thursday afternoon. I’m still a bit wary and will wait til about mid next week to make sure I don’t get an email saying the transfer failed/was reversed, and then have it removed again. But things so far have been quiet, so I’m hoping this means things are all but resolved
