Delay in payment to Paypal

Can anyone please explain why when I make a payment towards my PayPal credit it says paid straight away, but takes days to clear off my balance? But also, why does it take days to come out of my bank account? Last month I made my payment on the 24th Nov and the money wasn't debited from my bank acc until the 29th. This is annoying as hell because the money isn't even pending with my bank and I am able to still spend this money until the day its debited. This is unbearably frustrating as it gives me a false impression that I still have money in my account when I don't! This happens all the time, every month. I'm even tempted to make the payment early so it clears on my payday

“How long does it take for payments to reflect on my account?

Payments will reflect on your PayPal Credit account the same day you make them, however, will show as pending. It can take up to 5 working days for the funds to leave your bank account and be applied to your PayPal Credit account.”

They don’t say. Just be sure to check your bank balance and spend with care.
