Does available balance take into account pending payments?

Hi - if I make a purchase and the payment is pending ,  are the funds for this purchase deducted from available balance i.e. already held for the merchant?

e.g. if my purchase is for $100 and it is pending , will my balance shown have taken this into account and be showing I have $100 less 'available'  ?

Thanks

Hello @JML53

Thanks for joining the Community!

I understand you have questions about a pending transaction and how it impacts your balance. There are a few different types of pending transactions, and depending on what they are, they may or may not impact your balance. If your transaction is labeled as a pending order or authorization, a hold would be placed on your balance right away. If the merchant doesn't complete the transaction, the hold will release after 30 days on average. If your payment shows pending because it was sent as an eCheck, your balance will not be impacted. An eCheck is always paid through your bank, and the payment will show pending until we receive it. As soon as we receive the eCheck, the money will be forwarded to your merchant.

I hope this helps!
