Duplicate payment for something I only paid for once

Hi,

 

I'm from the UK and I made a payment via PayPal for a service. However, PP have taken the payment from my account twice. One payment has been debited, the other has been pending for the last three days. I contacted my bank and they said to contact PP for the refund, due to the amount involved. I tried the resolution center, but there's nothing that covers this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If the pending payment is not claimed it should time out 30 days after paying.

Would it speed things up if I made PayPal aware of the problem?

Thank you @kernowlass for this response. This does sound like a pending authorisation. As @kernowlass stated, this should time out after 30-days. 

 

PayPal may be able to void pending orders and authorizations from your account after 30 calendar days. If you wish to cancel a pending order before the 30-day timeframe has passed, you must contact the merchant to do so.
