Fitbit recall refund

Hi all. There was a recall of the fitbit Ionic and I was notified that there is a 299USD refund that has been sent to me. I never had a PayPal account , but gave them my email address. I was told to create a PayPal account using that email and then the funds would be available. I have done so, however my PayPal account is showing a nil balance . Is there anything I still need to do for the funds to reflect ? Thanks so much

The email I referred to was from Fitbit, not from Paypal. The error in my case was that I was referred to Paypal at all when, in fact, the refund was processed by a different company.

I am in the UK so I can only say what I have observed here. Maybe it is different in India. I don't know, I'm afraid.

I had the same issue. PayPal says my email was not verified and they have reverted the money back to Fitbit and needs to be reinitialised. Fitbit customer care says they don’t initiate any payment rather they inform PayPal about the refund and PayPal initialises the payment. As per Fitbit customer care the money will get reinitiated by PayPal but they don’t have a timeline as to when that will happen.

Same story. Also in SA. Paypal not exactly being very helpful. Anyone outside South Africa experiencing this problem?

Yes I faced the same problem in India. Received an email with the refund. Clicked on claim my reward and logged into the PayPal account and nothing shows up in the PayPal balance. PayPal customer care says they can’t see any transaction. Anyone has a resolution to this issue?

Hi!

I have the exact same issue. Also from South Africa. After i claimed, the balance is nothing. Ive contacted Fitbit and Paypal and both seem like they not sure why its happening. Also as soon as i claimed it. My Withdraw limit was increased which was weird. If i try claim again, says the transaction doesnt exist anymore. This is so annoying

Same issue here. Can't do anything about it, @AskPayPal doesn't help us in any way about it.

I have a similar issue. I have received a series of emails from Fitbit about the refund. The latest one invited me to enter a redemption code on a website called b4bpayments.com. I entered the code I was given in the email but got an error message. I contacted their support and was told the refund payment would be process via my Paypal account. I was told I would need to "add a card" in my "wallet" but can't see any way to do that via my Paypal account.

For Indian PayPal users only. I am facing the same problem as many of you- received an email from PayPal that an amount of $309 has been sent but nothing shows up in my PayPal account. I managed to call Fitbit and PayPal today. PayPal says it's because I haven't completed the KYC for receiving international payments which I did but only after I received the email from PayPal that the money has been sent. Received a refund email on the 31st of March, 2022 but completed the KYC only on the 1st of April- This is where things have gone wrong. The guy from PayPal suggested me to ask Fibit to cancel the unclaimed/ pending payment and resend the refund amount. After this, I called up Fitbit and told them everything the guy from PayPal suggested me to do. They said this is the first time they've encountered such a problem and would help me get back my refund. I'd suggest you guys here in the community forum who are also facing a similar problem to call Fitbit on this number [removed] to claim your Fibit Ionic refund. Hope this helps!
