Funds deposited into my account for unknown transaction

I have received a deposit into my account. It appears it has been deposited into my account incorrectly by someone paying for an item of clothing. Does this sound like a simply error or could this be a type of scan?

Could be an error, your best bet is to contact the email address of the sender and state that you will issue a refund.

HOWEVER check on the details page first to make sure you were not charged a fee and if you were issue a part refund minus the fee element.

I can understand how confusing it would be to see funds deposited into your account that you were not expecting. Have you recently completed your taxes and had the refund deposited through PayPal? If not, I suggest contacting our Customer Support to speak to them about why the funds may have been deposited. You can do this by clicking 'Contact' at the bottom of any PayPal website page to view available options.
