I understand your concern about the payment sent to wrong email address. As the payment was sent to an email address which is not added your PayPal account, you can add and confirm the email address in your PayPal account, the money will show up in your PayPal balance. As the payment is still unclaimed, you can also ask the sender to cancel the payment and resend it to your correct email address.
