How long to refund money from cancelled order.

I made a payment for some kitchen appliances using my PayPal debit card. I had to cancel the order because the wrong delivery address was used. The company cancelled the order the same day as I placed it. The money was taken from my PayPal account. How long will it take for this money to be returned to my PayPal account? I can’t replace the order with the correct shipping address until this money is back in my account.

If you funded the original Paypal payment to the seller from your bank account or a card then once marked refunded/completed it will automatically go back to that bank account or card.
Normally it can take a few days up to a week to go back to a bank account. Paypal say allow 30 days for a card (1 billing cycle) but its rarely that long.
(Can vary according to country though).

The money I used was in my PayPal account. It was a PayPal debit card. Money came straight from PayPal acct

I understand that you're expecting a refund. Once the merchant initiates the refund and it is shown on your PayPal activity page, the refund will be credited to the original payment method. As you mentioned that you paid with your balance, the refund will go to your PayPal Balance on the same day. If the refunded transaction, is not reflecting on your account but the payment was completed from your end, please reach out to the merchant in regards to the same and request a refund by following the steps in this link. Kindly go through the the help center article shared by the @kernowlass to know more information about a refund. If the merchant does not respond, you may report the charge via Resolution Center.
