Ineligible for buyer protection - Alibaba Order Cancellation / deposit not refundable.

Placed an order for 300 units from Alibaba paid via PayPal. Wanted to cancel order after 4 days due to change of financial circumstances. Opened a case with PayPal requesting refund but they just closed the case stating I am not eligible for buyer protection. Alibaba supplier also stating they can’t refund due to raw materials being already ordered so I will lose deposit of £930!? I am very disappointed in PayPal not even looking into this matter. Has this happened to anyone else? I have requested a refund, waiting for suppliers official response before it is escalated to Alibaba. What else can I do?

Paypal covers you for non receipt of item OR item received but not as described.

They do not cover you for change of mind or buyer remorse, that would be between you and the seller to sort out.

Thank you for your response. What about cancelling an item? Clear communication evidence about cancellation with supplier was provided.

Once a payment has COMPLETED then unless the item does not arrive or arrives misdescribed then its between you and the merchant if they allow or will do a cancellation for you.
