Is there any way to block money from bank account being used to pay?

Hi, ideally I want only money in my paypal account to be used for purchases.  I never want PayPal to access my bank account nor debit card.  I had the bright idea yesterday of simply delinking both my bank account and debit card.  Unfortunately, it seems that due to that PayPal will no longer accept my account being funded from any other sources (I tried sending £5 from Betfair, but it eventually bounced back to my Betfair account).

So it looks as though I'll need to link to my bank account again.  Is there any way of blocking Paypal from using money from my bank account??  I would feel vastly safer if I could only do that!

If you don't have a card or bank account linked then your paypal account is no longer verified.

Secondly you have the option to select a funding source and can do so here...

Click on the profile tab (icon next to log out) > Click on payments third option along on the thick blue band top of page > second down click on update next to your preferred way to pay and put a dot in one of the options listed.

You certainly can't select the funding source doing that.  It merely allows you to choose from your paypal balance, or a debit card, or bank when purchasing something.  They are not funding my paypal account.  So, anyway, if I use PayPal I could find my bank account quickly emptied with purchasing from a dodgy website.  It's beyond stupidity not allowing people to have a paypal account without linking to a debit or credit card.

And, of course, one verifies one's paypal account on first setting up an account many years ago!  It is ridiculous beyond belief to have to continually verify it.  And especially so when people are sending me money.  Why on earth do paypal imagine a criminal would send me money via paypal??
