My card was charged twice for the same purchase

Hi,

I have purchased an ebook from cengage.uk using my paypal account on 7th September 2022. After my purchase I have received the email with the transaction ID & msg "Your funds will be transferred when the merchant processes your payment." But later (8th Sep 2022, 12: 10 AM UAE Time) my credit card was charged twice for the same amount by the paypal. I can understand that the card was charged twice for the same purchase. 

Can anyone help me with this issue?

I am sorry to hear you have been charged twice for a purchase, I appreciate how concerning this must be for you. 

 

If the duplicate charge shows on your bank account but not within the Activity section of your PayPal account, please contact your bank for some help with this. 

 

It is possible that the amount is being held as an authorisation until the merchant captures the order/funds and this authorisation did not drop when the merchant captured the funds. If this is the case, this should drop off from your bank in 3-5 days.  

 

If you have two 'completed' payments shown on your Activity section, sent to the same seller as a duplicate payment, I would ask that you please get in contact with us or request that the merchant refunds the duplicate payment.
