PayPal and Lands'End duplicate deductions for the same order?

Would someone please explain to me why the Lands'End purchase that I used PayPal as my payment method shows 3 different transactions?
My money was deducted ONCE when I placed my order. THEN upon receipt of my Lands'End order, that's when my money was deducted AGAIN.
I actually show 3 different transactions.
One is now showing canceled, due to my calling Lands'End customer service.
One is showing pending. SO, I called Lands'End AGAIN to cancel that transaction.
One is completed because I received my order AND THIS IS WHEN PAYMENT WAS DEDUCTED AGAIN?!
I have never had this issue before using PayPal for over 10 years. Lands'End says it is a PayPal problem. Supposedly when a customer selects PayPal as their payment method from the Lands'End website, going back and forth between sites, apparently this how the orders get duplicated?? However, is that is true, then why wasn't my money deducted 2 times initially when I placed my order??
I will try very hard never to use PayPal again due to this issue. Especially, being unable to file a complaint about it through PayPal.
I shouldn't have to be out $134 because they don't wish to be contacted to resolve my issue.
Let's hope Lands'End, upon canceling this "2nd pending transaction" for the order I already received and paid for, will get my money back into my PayPal account!
Thanks for any help given to me so I am able to understand why this happened. Is this a PayPal, OR Lands'End issue they need to take responsibility for and resolve accordingly so it doesn't happen to anyone else? Maybe both are to blame?!
I made a purchase at Lands'End since this issue but used my Bank card. Let's see if I get double charged using my bank.
I will update this post accordingly.

Hi @NanK22,
Thank you for contacting the PayPal Community Forum and welcome as a new member!
Your question is very account specific, and we would be unable to tell you why this has happened over a public forum. I would suggest contacting us via Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/PayPal/, Twitter - @AskPayPal., chat or phone and we would be happy to advise.
