PayPal intercepted a payment and kept it.

On Sept 23, GF sent me $80. We frequently send money back and forth for years so these aren’t new accounts. Well today is Sept 29th and the money still hasn’t been credited to my account. PP customer service has done nothing but give me the run around. They’re telling me that they haven’t gotten the payment, however the sender’s bank has provided me PROOF in the form of an e check receipt showing that not only has PayPal gotten the payment, but they’ve negotiated the transfer DAYS AGO, and have had the money for days. So customer service LIED to me, first they told me 6 days, then when I asked what DATE would constitute the 6th day they changed their story and said it would be credited to my account whenever it cleared the senders bank, which I could put later that as he was telling me that, the funds had ALREADY cleared the senders bank. Now I can’t get any answers from PayPal and had to open a fraud investigation through the senders bank. They have a receipt from the transaction between them and PayPal indicating PayPal was in receipt of the money days ago, and now PayPal doesn’t know where it’s at, it’s not in my account, the sender doesn’t have it, and it’s last known whereabouts were being transferred to PayPal, and there’s a receipt to show it. So the money has been mishandled or intercepted on the way by someone either with PayPal or hacked into PayPal. The senders bank is filing a fraud case alert with the federal trade commission today indicating that PayPal was in recipes of the money, and I had to give a statement indicating that I never received it, plus screenshots of the customer service rep swearing to me that PayPal never got it, which I put right next to the receipt from the senders bank showing that it was received by PayPal. I knew the customer service rep was lying to me as soon as we opened chat. Trying to gaslight me with the same old song and dance that I could have read in the help index. I don’t want sing and dance, I want my money, and I want it NOW. After being defrauded and lied to by PayPal I am EXTREMELY angry. First off NOTHING in digital finance takes 6 days. That’s a bunch of bull. Then after the 6 days has gone by the story changed to “whenever we get the money” that they got 3 days ago. I’m sick of this dog and pony show and with the help of the senders bank, I’m fixing to make a very loud noise with the FTC, and every regulatory agency within the scope of finance. I’ve never been treated this way in my life. I hold 2 master’s degrees in engineering and PayPal plays me like I’m some idiot. We’ll see about that.

Echeques take up to 7 business days and its only 4 business days so far.

The date given is always an estimate dependent on the banks processing times.

Paypal can't credit you what they have not received yet, echeques leave your bank and then go via ACH in batches before being credited to paypal.

Well the sender’s bank is telling us that the exheck has been issued, and has been negotiated by PayPal and they have the return receipt. They’re making us up copies that they say is irrefutable confirmation that someone at PayPal negotiated the e-check, or someone hacked into PayPals system and impersonated someone at PayPal. I don’t know how all this works, but the senders banker knows, and they’re telling us that there’s something fishy going on. That PayPal has received the money. The senders bank has initiated a fraud claim on our behalf, and I doubt if they would have done that unless they know something suspicious is going on. I’m just going to follow their guidance. But they’re telling me that they have had issues with PayPal doing the same thing to more than one of their customers in the past.

Whatever, but surprised the echeck would have cleared that quickly, mine normally take at least 5 days.

As the echeck goes via ACH in batches not sure how your bank would know when paypal received it?

I am in a similar situation. It is sad that apparently the people they believe are scams may have very well be themselves. It's 1 week nobody has gotten in contact with me. I managed to get through on Twitter then @PayPal tried to tell me have the recipient to contact them. They have tried up to this minute not even a text. Stupid bot just types sgit and keeps on sending you back to previous pages. For a financial institution to be so horrible. No customer service, no management. PayPal is a scam. I will be going to every media company both local and overseas. I am going to expose them. This is scamming people. This is my hard days work and my sweat. I pray the blood of Jesus to take control. I am a prayer warrior. I will save many from falling into PayPal scam.
