Pending paypal transaction when purchase didn't go through with actual merchant

I have a pending paypal Transaction from over a week ago where the actual purchase did not go through on the merchants end. Confirmed with merchant that no order was ever placed with them. But still showing as a pending $111 transaction in paypal

I understand your concern about the pending transaction for a canceled purchase in your PayPal account. No need to worry! When you attempt to make a payment, the amount can be temporarily authorized and will be in pending status until merchant capture's the payment. As the purchase didn't go through, the pending authorization will get dropped in few days. I suggest you to wait few more days.
