I sold an item and it shows by tracking they attempted to deliver but no person was at hoe to deliver it so they left notice for pick up at post office and I notified buyer. It's been 4 days and they have yet to pick up item and has already paid. What's my next step?

Have to wait for customer to pick up. Are your funds on hold? If item gets returned to you for non-collection, just refund only item price. PayPal will eventually release the held funds after 21 days if you had to refund before then. PayPal may not use the on hold funds to cover refund.
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

The item has already been paid for. The post office just left another(2nd) reminder for customer pickup. I have the funds already in my bank and have written the buyer 2 times and only got one reply. The buyer has 1500 sales/buys and has a 100% feedback rate.
Not sure I should use the funds sent.

Would not matter where your funds were, if the buyer opened a dispute for non receipt of item and won then if you refused a refund paypal would refund the buyer and then put your account into negative until you paid them back again.
So if item is returned see if you can work it out with them without them resorting to a dispute.

There is no dispute. The buyer just hasn't made an effort to pick up item as of yet. I only heard from him once and have sent him 3 messages and the only one he replied to was to say thank you.

I didn't say he had opened a dispute, I was replying to you saying the funds were in your bank account.
I was advising that it would not matter where they were, IF he opened a dispute for non receipt of item and won then you would have to refund anyway.
So best try and work it out between yourselves.
