Hi all,

A week ago I purchased an expensive vinyl record from Discogs. I payed rightaway with iDeal but ther payment was made to a Paypal account, I also got a confirmation from Paypal about the payment being received. After that everything went silent. I wass able to figure out the private email of the seller and sent him an email asking whether all was fine last Friday to which he responded saying: "Yeah money came in and I will see whether I can ship this weekend." I found this a bit lax. On Sunday evening nothing had happened and the shipment was still not sent so I sent him an email from my business email with my private mail in cc asking the seller whether he would be able to send the package to my business address because I am not home during business hours. I have not had any reply to that, yesterday I sent him an email stating that I was a bit worried about this transaction, no response again.

On Discogs I just filed a report that the seller is not responding, the seller had not responded at all yet on their message platform.

I am becoming very worried about this transaction and am wondering whether I can get my money back through Paypal even though I did not Pay from my Paypal account.

You generally don't have Paypal buyer protection cover as a guest buyer but you can contact customer services and they may be able to assist you by reaching out to the seller for you. OR if you don't have a paypal account then they may allow you to open an account and add that transaction to it so you can open a dispute.
So If you need help for a guest buyer transaction then you can;

1. Phone Paypal customer services and see if they will help you.
OR
2. Contact your card issuer for a chargeback.
