"Things don't appear to be working at the moment. Please try again later" error

While attempting to make a payment to a merchant from their website, I am redirected to an error page containing the message "Things don't appear to be working at the moment. Please try again later." .

This happens instantly when clicking the "add funds" button, without me logging in to my paypal account (therefore I'm pretty certain the problem is not account-related), and in multiple browsers. I have disabled the encrypted website payments option. What do I do?Screen Shot 2023-04-02 at 1.54.51 PM.png

Hi @Onscreen

Thank you for joining the PayPal Community Forum, and for posting your first post! How frustrating to encounter an error when attempting to check out with a merchant!

Have you checked with the merchant directly? I'm wondering if they have an error with their configuration that would result in directing you to an invalid page before you can even sign in. Otherwise, it's possible that you have a bad cookie in your browser from a previous login, so clearing the cookies and cache in your browser might do the trick - or even logging in to your PayPal account prior to attempting to checkout.

I hope these suggestions help solve the problem, but you can also always reach out to Customer Service for additional troubleshooting and assistance.

Please let us know if you were able to resolve this!
