Did you ever get a response to this? I am dealing with the same issue!! It was a Wells Fargo routing number but a 17 digit account number and Wells Fargo said they do not have 17 digit account numbers but they could not give me any more info.

Actually after doing my own investigation for several months I found out that the 17 digit account number was attached with my PayPal debit card, thankfully my card expired and I was issued a new one and to my surprise along with the card was the exact routing number and exact 17 digit account number. Different account number but at least I found out what it belonged to because Papal representatives are clueless, the card is issued from Wells Fargo but they do not have access to the account because the account well, it belongs to PayPal. What a headache! I spent YEARS trying to get PayPal to help me out I can't even explain it to a rep without getting angry because they don't understand me or me them lol and they have so much patience!! Anyhoo, I hope this helps you. When you call PayPal you have to say you want to speak to someone in the debit card department because the rep will say if not already that your account number is located on your homepage in a very calm and sweet accent lol and it's not 17 digits so to save the headache remember to tell them to transfer you to that Debit card department. Unfortunately for me the account number is not affiliated with my account it belongs to someone else but they can't tell me who it belongs to for security purposes so whomever used my information stole my check from the IRS BUT I don't understand why PayPal would accept a check in my name but in someone else's account?! All I have been told by PayPal is to have the IRS contact them and gave me a list of what IRS needs to do and how to word it and so on. It's just insane battling this nightmare since 2021 but the IRS will not contact PayPal because the check was not returned they said it's as if I cashed it and used it so I had to file a fraud claim and wait another 2 years!!
