Error when withdrawing from PayPal using FNB in South Africa

I've been trying to withdraw from PayPal using FNB but I get this error message. Nobody from FNB can help either and I just wanted to know what this error meant and how to fix it. Instead of trying to help me, they just keep transferring me to other people which is ridiculous. I've tried both online and on the app but I get the same error message, hoping someone on here might be able to help me. My details are inserted correctly when I try to withdraw so I'm not sure where the problem lies. Screenshot_20231116-155104_FNB.jpg

To those experiencing the same issue, I called PayPal services on [removed] and they had to change the something on their system so I could transfer my PayPal funds. Hope that helps and the issue gets resolved on your side 😁.

I went to a branch. They said that it was because my number was entered starting with +27 instead of 0. So please check how your information especially numerical information is entered. Hope that helps m.

I managed to solve the problem by changing my cell number at Capitec and FNB (in both branches), I then changed it on PayPal and voilà I was able to withdraw. It wants all telephone numbers to be identical and when I changed the cell number on FNB, I must have stuffed something up so going this route helped!

How did you change it from the +27 to the 0 on the fnb app cause I'm experiencing the same thing

You have to contact PayPal services with FNB directly and they'll change it for you. The number I dialed was [removed]. I hope that helps.

SOLUTION: Call FNB's PayPal services number (can find it online), select the first option (press one on the keypad), you'll be connected with a Customer Service Agent, Tell them you're having issues withdrawing from PayPal to your account and the error message says there's an invalid character ( a "+" ) in your cellphone number. They'll sort it out right then and there.
