While using PayPal as my payment method at a website, I chose to pay with one of my linked credit cards that allows me to apply reward points when paying. I chose the card, entered the dollar amount of rewards I wanted to use, but when it took me back to the online merchant to complete payment, the total amount due was unaffected. It still showed the full amount being charged to my credit card without removing the dollar amount I selected. Is this normal? Am I supposed to see an updated balance or does that apply (show up) later, after I choose to pay now?
I do understand your concern with this. When paying using your PayPal rewards, the total amount of the transaction will always show at the checkout with the merchant.

Hi. Thank you for your assistance! I'm not referring to PayPal Rewards. I was referring to my credit card rewards points, ie: Chase Ultimate Rewards, or Discover Reward Points. I choose one of those cards to pay with, and then select how many points I want to apply to the total (ie: 1 point = $1). Thing is, when it goes back to merchant wesite, the points I applied to lower the balance doesn't show up - just the original balance total. So if I select "pay now" it appears it will charge whatever credit card I selected for the full amount and not apply the chosen rewards points.
