How to change payment method for pending/declined transaction?

I accidentally selected the wrong account when sending a user money, and it got declined because I had insufficient funds. I wanted to change it to the correct account with the necessary funds, the payment seems to be pending after being declined. I already removed the incorrect payment account from both paypal and revoked paypal's access through my bank, I also set the correct account as my preferred payment method, I was wondering what additional steps I could take to ensure this payment goes through. Thank you in advance for any answers!

Welcome! Thanks for visiting PayPal's Community Forum. I'm sorry to hear a recent transaction hasn't gone quite as you had expected. Unfortunately, there's not a way to change the payment method of a transaction once it begins. Normally, you would want to reach out to the merchant, have them cancel or refund the transaction, and then make the purchase again with the payment method you prefer.
