How to transfer money from my bank into my PayPal account?

I am a new PayPal user. Within PayPal, I have successfully linked my bank account. Now I want to transfer some money from my bank account into my PayPal account. But I don't see how to do this.

The PayPal help function says to go to Wallet, then click on Add Money. But when I click on Wallet, I do not see any buttons to Add Money.

Can anyone help? Thx.

You would need to set up a balance account first normally by selling something and receiving the funds into your paypal account.

However as a buyer you never need funds in your Paypal balance.
Paypal will automatically take payment from any confirmed bank account or card (whichever is eligible in your country) during the payment process.

If you have the option to select a funding source then you can do so here...

Click on the profile tab (icon next to log out) > Click on payments third option along on the thick blue band top of page > second down click on update next to your preferred way to pay and put a dot in one of the options listed.

In case it helps others: It turns out that, if you want to hold a cash balance in PayPal, you need to convert your PayPal account to a PayPal Balance account. It was not at all clear how to do this, however, so I called PayPal. The rep guided me thru some hidden screens to convert the account. If you need / want to do this, the best thing is to call PayPal.

FYI that you need to have a linked and confirmed bank account attached to your PayPal account. You do not, however, need to have received a payment into your PayPal account.

That was one way of setting up a balance account but I thought it was more important to tell you about the fact you do NOT need funds in your balance as a buyer. So, you're welcome.
