If the funds are pending awaiting authorisation to a merchant then if not captured by that merchant they generally time out at 30 days.

I guess that's what I'm waiting for, but I can't buy a real TV until the virtual payment is canceled. I've spent hours on both web sites this weekend, and there is no way to contact anyone who can actually DO anything. I visited my closest WM Friday, and they found no order pending on my account, but have no way to contact PP.  I spoke to someone yesterday on PP's 888 line, who assured me that it had been taken care of, but it's still haunting my account.
