Payment made but money not taken from my account

Paypal authorised an automatic payment to Airbnb. I got a paypal receipt, and an Airbnb receipt confirming I have paid. As usual, PayPal then attempted to take the money I owed from my account, but I'd forgotten to update my preferred card from one that was expired and linked to an old address, so the payment failed. I got a note on my PayPal app saying the payment had failed, and asking me to remember to pay. But when I logged back in to try to pay, the note had disappeared. I've checked my activity tab and it just lists the payment as having gone through to Airbnb, with no mention of my not having actually paid. It has now been several days and the money still hasn't been taken from my account. Can someone please tell me how to pay this debt?!

Just replying in case anyone else has a similar problem. To clarify: I checked, and Airbnb had received the money when I got the receipt. PayPal eventually took the payment from my account about a week after this, and didn't give me any warning. So if you're in this position, just keep an eye on your account for a week or so and it should come out.

Welcome to the PayPal Community Forum. I'm sorry to hear there's been an issue with a recent payment to Airbnb. I understand you've tried to pay the transaction through PayPal again and have not been able to. If you've still been unsuccessful in making the payment through PayPal, have you tried reaching out to Airbnb directly to see if they can guide you through making a payment? If they're unable to assist, please reach out to our Customer Support teams to review the status of that transaction and provide guidance on what next steps should be taken.
