Pending payment personal account

Hello!
A friend of mine sent me money, using paypal money they had in their paypal account and friends and family option. We both have personal accounts. The payment status is pending. I have been using paypal for a couple of years now and my friend recently started using it but has already received some transactions/payments before. Therefore it was not their first time. There is no option to cancel the payment at their end.
What can either of us do to resolve the pending status issue (shows pending at both our ends)?

I am sorry to know about the pending payment and I understand how important it is to have funds at the right time. Please note that every transaction that goes through PayPal is subjected to a review and hold. If there is any issue detected by our system, it will be on hold until further review has been completed. PayPal reviews the payment and either clears or reverses it. The review process usually takes less than 24- 48 hours, although this time frame can extend. I request you to allow some more time for the system to complete the review. If there are no issues found on your account, the funds will be credited. If not, please reach out to our Customer Support Team through the available contact options on our website to know the reason for the payment delay. Support is also available through Facebook private messages or Twitter direct messages.
