I tried to place an order with boots.com, I had an Onscreen message saying the order failed but I have no idea why the order didn’t go through. I also have no email confirmation of the order ever being placed (because it technically wasn’t). However the transaction is in my PayPal account as on “temporary hold”. Will the hold be lifted and go to boots.com even though they didn’t let me place my order? Or will the transaction be reversed?
When you pay a company then it is often pending or awaiting authorisation until that company processes your order and captures the pending payment.
If they don't process the order and capture that payment then the pending status times out at 30 days (can be earlier if the merchant carn void it) post-payment and returns back to your funding source.
