Text scam to confirm recent EBay purchase

Hello—

i made a purchase on eBay tonight and afterwards i received a couple of text messages asking if I’d made a purchase for the $ amount and to press 1 if yes and 2 if no. I pressed 1 to confirm.

The reply was, “you can’t send or receive money by text anymore.”  

I’ve received another text asking the same information again. 

I’ve confirmed is PayPal the money was sent. I’m not going to reply to the text message again.

If the text message was from a number on this thread, then it was from PayPal, If it was not from one of those two numbers, I would recommend reaching out to eBay's Customer Support to see if it was from them. If it was not, then I would recommend forwarding it to the email address in this Help Center article.
