Transaction pending - seller asks to make an action

Hello. I placed the order at German website Thomann.de using PayPal. I was not charged and this transaction has pending status. I also see the message in transaction description: "Your funding source will be charged when Thomann GmbH completes your order."

Now the shop contacts me via email and tells that PayPal can not authorise my transaction and offers me several options of paying. It seems strange for me. What shall I do? How can I cancel this transaction at PayPal? I went to Resolution Centre but it says that this type of transaction can not be claimed, what does it mean?

When you pay a company then it is often pending or awaiting authorisation until that company processes your order and captures the pending payment.

If they don't process the order and capture that payment then the pending status times out at 30 days post-payment and returns back to your funding source.

The OP's issue isn't confusion over the authorisation process. The problem is that Thomann is trying but can't complete the transaction on their end because they need the money first while PayPal says it can't send the money until Thomann completes the transaction. The OP would like to know the reason for this issue.

For whatever reas0n the transaction is NOT completing, then any pending status on their paypal account would time out at 30 days and they would get their money back.

If you have a reason WHY the payment was declined then feel free to post it on here, unfortunately I don't know why that company can't accept the payment and as the OP posted the question 5 months ago I am sure it is all sorted by now without your negative input.
