Transfer money without bank account attached

Hello!

I am not living in Canada anymore (now in Germany) and want to close my Canadian PayPal account. Before that, I would like to transfer the existing balance to my German PayPal account. But I could not send it because I have no debit card or bank account attached to my Canadian PayPal anymore (I do not have any of these anymore). How can I transfer my balance?

Paypal is country specific so if you move countries you have to open another paypal account in the country you reside in and add an address / phone number / bank accounts / cards from within that country.

You should really withdraw any funds / resolve issues / remove cards and bank accounts / cancel any subscriptions and close the old Paypal account before you move countries. If you don't then you may have problems doing so once you have moved and may need to contact customer services for help to resolve things.

Contact options for each countries Paypal customer services are accessed by clicking help/contact bottom left of Paypal pages.

1. Paypal phones when available (you can use the guest option if you can't log in).
2. Live chat is also randomly available.
3. You can send them a message, during business hours you may also be able to message whilst logged out.

Thank you for the advice!

I had less than 20 CAD left on my PayPal account and did not find it worth the effort of contacting customer service (I had tried first but ended up here ^^). Luckily, I found another way of spending the money: I could make a donation to Canadian nature conservancy using the balance left in my Canadian PayPal account without having a bank account attached. This way, I could give something back to Canada's beautiful nature that I enjoyed a lot during my time there. Now, I can delete the account.
