We are starting a nonprofit business account with Paypal/Venmo to use at our school PTA. We currently sell snacks for $1 in cash. When we start using Venmo, do we have to charge for the payment plus fees even in our cash price? So let's say it's 22 cents in fees, does our cash cost now have to cost $1.22? I was told that our cash cost has to be the same as the Venmo cost including the fees but I was under the impression that while we can't charge a person more for using Venmo, that the Venmo fee added in doesn't count towards that.
The way I understand it: Someone can pay $1 in cash. If they pay with Venmo/card, it's $1 our cost plus they pay whatever fees there may be.
