how to send money without a paypal account

I was under the impression you could send money to a PayPal account without having one yourself?  I've tried to work it out without logging in to my account but I can't see how to do it.  We have a school account and a few parents don't want to sign up for an account but would still like to send money.

They would have to set up a paypal account during the payment process if you use something like a paypal.me link.

That is unless you are a business account holder and can accept direct card payments processed via paypal.
