End up paying twice due to insufficient balance.

Hi all.

I recently paid for a service with Paypal but due to insufficient funds in the primary payment method, Paypal balance was charged resulting a negative balance. I added money from my bank account to fix the issue and avoid freezing the account.

HOWEVER in the meanwhile Paypal charged the second payment method successfully so I end up paying for this service twice. 1 for fixing the negative balance issue and 2 for the actual service. Any feedback on how to resolve this?

This happened in two separate occasions.

Thank you in advance.

If you have failed bank transfer then Paypal automatically keep trying to access those funds to clear your negative balance.
They have already fronted the payment to the seller on your behalf and so want the money owed.

If you sent a bank transfer to your Paypal account and Paypal also automatically applied for the funds as well then you would have 2 payments processing to your paypal balance.
The first one to arrive will clear the negative balance and the second one will be credited as a + to your balance and you can withdraw it back to your balance once cleared.

Thank you @kernowlass  for you reply!

I thought that would be the case but it seems that the second payment has arrived (I paid for the service with the second payment method and in the meanwhile I fixed the negative balance with deposit from the bank ) and didn't credited to the balance.

First case:
22 March Paypal fronted the payment to the seller and created a negative balance.
23 March Paypal charged the second payment method successfully but the balance didn't change.
25 March I made a deposit from the bank account and fixed the negative balance.

Second case:
25 March Paypal fronted the payment to the seller and created a negative balance.
31 March Paypal charged the second payment method successfully but the balance didn't change.
31 March I made a deposit from the bank account and fixed the negative balance.

In your experience how many days should I wait to see the balance credited because I think that it should have been cleared by now and I don't know if I have to take further action.

Thank you for your time,
Mike K

If the funds were from a bank account then allow 5-7 business days for them to hit your balance, so hopefully case 1 on Monday?

Hi again @kernowlass !

Unfortunately money hasn't been credited to the balance in neither of the cases so I wonder what is the best way to contact them for this matter since all of the help section is automated. Any input from your experience would be highly appreciated!

Thank you in advance,
Mike K.
