I understand your concern about redeeming PayPal gift card. I recommend you to read out the retailer’s terms and conditions to make sure the digital gift card you’re buying can be redeemed where you plan to use it. PayPal does not control how and where digital gift cards can be redeemed.
If the code can be used online, you can enter the gift card or voucher code option at the time of checkout. If the code can be used in store, you can inform the cashier and they will either scan or key in the code to redeem it. You can find more information about redeeming the gift cards here.
