I got an email saying that Paypal couldn't collect funds from my checking/routing numbers, so they switched to a different card.
In the process they deleted my checking account from the wallet, and wont let me add it back on.
They no longer let me add my checking via trial deposits, So i have to login and verify the security code of my Online Banking.
Everything i type is correct, I make sure I'm putting the correct 2 factor authentication code and it only tells me they cannot and to try again later.
I called Ally Bank to see if they have any restrictions on their end and there is nothing, so there is no reason my charge should of failed to post over there... Ally tells me that they didn't even see the charge in their ACH warehouse.
And before anyone tells me I might be imputing wrong or old code for the 2 factor authentication, I assure you, I am not.

I have the exact same problem.
I have spoken with Ally Bank Customer Support and they insist there are no restrictions on their end.
PayPal Customer Support is saying that Ally Bank must be a bad bank right now and that their attempts to reactivate linked accounts fail automatically.

I have no idea what Ally being a bad bank could mean, but I suppose paypal customer service isn't well versed in how the inner workings of the systems they or other banks use. They would only be contact center employees. I hope it gets fixed soon! Cause I do everything through paypal, is there even a different system to use?

This just happened to me as well. I'm now sitting with a $-20 balance and I'm unable to add Ally back to pay it. I have two credit cards attached to the account as well, but apparently can't pay the negative balance with those.
Soooo, not sure what I can do really. Definitely not opening a new bank account just to pay the balance.

I also have the same problem. My Ally checking account was removed by PayPal on 2/4. Ally support says there are no restrictions or flags on my account. PayPal support said today that their internal security measures do not allow Ally to be linked. Not sure what is going on and why this started happening!

I too am experiencing this. Paypal deleted my Ally account on the 8th, and so far I've been unable to add it back. Yesterday I spent a couple of hours calling PayPal and Ally back and forth. Ally says they didn't decline it and have no record of the transaction ever even hitting them, and PayPal says Ally did decline the transaction and is blocking them from readding the account. Oddly I was able to add another Ally account successfully, so whatever block is in place is specific to the account.
